What does this uptime check do?
It sends a single HTTPS request from our edge network and reports whether the site answered, with which HTTP status code and how long the response took.
The site works for me but shows offline. Why?
Some origins block datacentre traffic, require a country-specific route, or sit behind a firewall that filters automated requests. That is a configuration difference, not necessarily an outage.
What do the status codes mean?
200 is healthy, 301 and 302 are redirects, 403 means access was refused, 404 means the page is missing, and 5xx codes indicate the server itself is failing.
Is this continuous monitoring?
No — it is an on-demand check from one location. For alerting you need a scheduled monitor that probes from several regions.
