1. Measurement accuracy
SpeedExact reports the throughput your browser achieved during a short test window. That is a genuine measurement, but it is not a certificate of the speed your provider sold you. Wi-Fi interference, an overloaded router, VPN encryption, a busy CPU, browser extensions, other devices on the same line and the distance to the test server all affect the result. Two consecutive tests differing by ten to twenty percent is normal behaviour, not a fault.
2. Not a substitute for professional diagnosis
Our articles and tools are educational. They do not constitute engineering, legal or contractual advice, and a SpeedExact result on its own is unlikely to be accepted as formal evidence in a dispute with an internet provider. If you believe you are being under-served, run repeated wired tests at different times of day, keep a written log, and raise a fault with your provider through their official process.
3. Third-party services and links
Measurements are performed against public third-party measurement endpoints, and network details such as ISP name and approximate location come from public IP databases, which are frequently inaccurate at city level. We link to external documentation and standards bodies where it helps, but we do not control that content and are not responsible for it.
4. Editorial independence and advertising
SpeedExact is funded by advertising. Ads are clearly labelled and separated from editorial content, and advertisers have no input into our articles, recommendations or test results. Where a page mentions specific hardware or providers, it is because it is relevant to the topic. If we ever add affiliate links, they will be disclosed on the page that contains them.
5. No warranty
The service is provided "as is". We aim for continuous availability and accurate content but make no guarantee of either, and we are not liable for decisions — including purchases or contract changes — made solely on the basis of information found here.
6. Corrections
